when I wear a cap or hat, it's because i'm too lazy to tame my untamed head of hair. or because i want to hide myself.
yes, i'm also sending a message. as we know, the choice of a cap can inform about ideals of the world. whether mystical, aesthetic, social marker of distinction or climatic motivator, political stance, religious orientation - headgear shapes personal identity.
it would be presumptuous to say that with this (incomplete) series of photographs, i (want to) create a social history of the covered head.
i was simply attracted by how changeable the individual is.
